So what are you waiting for, get your Geek Out and check out events in your area! You might even win a brand new Windows 8 device through our raffle!
It’s been great to see that so many Windows Phone developers join us in different events, from the Amigos-tour to WOWZAPP and the Starat-tour! Most of these events have had a Windows 8 focus and we’ve been building some great Windows 8 apps in addition to Windows Phone. But now it’s time to have a pure Windows Phone 8 training!
We’ll organize a training with a speaker from Redmond. In the event you’ll get an introduction to Windows Phone 8 development and explain the new features of WP8. The event is free of charge and it will be organized in Espoo. Stay tuned for updates and registration links. Want to book a seat? Send an email to email@example.com
It’s been a couple of week since WOWZAPP and we’ve managed to get some sleep. It’s been great seeing that so many attendees have continued on your app development, looking forward to see them in the Store! Let us know when you’re ready to publish, so we can do a virtual high five – and maybe promote your app!
It’s a great day for all developers! Yesterday we saw some great devices coming from Nokia, HTC and Samsung! And I know all of you have been waiting for the Windows Phone 8 SDK and the wait is almost over.. soon we’ll have it!
To get a headstart on your app development with Windows Phone 8, you should join as at the WOWZAPP-codenight. We’ll have great trainers for Windows Phone 8 and representatives from the Windows Phone Design team from Redmond. It’s a great chance to learn Windows Phone development from the best and get your application known. As you know AppCampus is also joining us and awarding the best idea with 20 000€
Isn’t the event just about Windows 8?
Nope. The event is called “WOWZAPP: Worldwide hackathon for Windows”, so both Windows 8 and Windows Phone are a part of this. We will have trainers that are experts in both platforms and they will be able to help you create your own app.
I wanted to highlight a few trainers for you, check the full list at http://www.microsoft.com/finland/wowzapp/

It’s been a long day.. the EuroSkills competitors arrived today to the competition site to check their equipment and get everything ready for the 3-day long competition starting tomorrow. For us at WebDesign the day was pretty simple, check that the applications work, check the connections and configure the keyboard layout for your own language. After those tasks were completed we got familiar with the venue and proceeded to the Opening Ceremony, which was quite amazing!
It’s that time of the of year again.. it’s time to see what EuroSkills has to offer us this year. Today was the first day of the event where students from vocational studies from around Europe come together to compete in their own profession. EuroSkills represents everyone from florits, bricklaying, nursing to web design and much more. I have the honor of being the Finnish WebDesign expert this year and to looking at the competition from a experts point of view, I must say.. it looks pretty interesting!
The Imagine Cup Grants program supports a number of winning teams solutions to go to market and realize their potential to solve a critical global problem. I just sat through a Imagine Cup Grants session during our learning session at the worldwide finals in Sydney. The session was really interesting and I thought I’d share my notes.
